A NEW ME!!!!

So I have had ENOUGH! Ok, what I mean is I have had enough of the endurance game. I always felt like a Salmon swimming upstream, this 6'-0", 2## + 4#ish gal trying to lumber along always being last. So a friend of mine, Shannon at our Crossfit Gym posted an announcement about a local Strongwoman Contest sponsored by 5x3 Training, here in Charm City. I entered as a novice and bada boom bada bing!  Took 1st place! 

The first time I had won an award for ANYTHING! Let alone first place! Yipeee Kiyaee... and the best thing is it was FUN and I met some really awesome Lady Lifters and found a community that is so awesome and supportive. How many other sports do you know that your direct competition is screaming in your ear to, 'finish up strong!' the whole time you are killing yourself to carry some heavy piece of something home?!  So my new journey has begun and I have competed in two other events the Delaware Strongwoman where I took 3rd and the 1st Annual Christian's Christmas Classic - I took 2nd there in the HW division, but only out of 2 people, but it was still challenging and FUN. It also qualifies me to compete in Nationals - not sure if I am quite ready for that, maybe next year. I have to say it feels awesome to finally have found a place where my genetic disposition meets training and yields results!  More to come....
